One of the few Frog kits to have a retractable undercarriage and doors. In fact, some of the later C2 boxes had a special panel announcing this feature printed on the top. The last issue used a box common with the Avro Vulcan.

TRADE NOTES

We note that others to follow in this 1/96th scale range are the long awaited “V” bombers, Valiant, Vulcan and Victor, plus the Comet 4. Though out of scale with the rest of the 1/72nd range, having a common span of about 7 in. the B-47, B-45, B-52 and Lockheed P2V-7 are welcome new additions to the FROG range and with the Boeing 707 shortly to come (1/144th scale, 12 in. span) the series will include a total of 32 different types—all original British mouldings.

TRADE NOTES

Our plastic of the month is the Valiant in FROG'S 1/96th series of 12s. 6d. One or two points on the wing root fitting and undercarriage need care, but the result, with silver overall and red arctic markings for the Canadian Winterisation PR. trials, nose refuelling probe and retractable u/c is self evident in the photos above.

Titled "V Bombers" this showed illustrations of both aircraft, the contents of the box being indicated by stickers on the box ends.

In February 1969 ... new kit releases had a new style of box with new artwork for some kits. Decals were standard Frog. The Canberra and V-bombers used a common box titled "Bomber Series" which had illustrations of all four aircraft, the contents being indicated by a sticker on the box end. Most Victors had left-over Rovex instruction sheets and decals. The earlier kits in production retained their old boxes.
